Chesham's Environment

Swans on the River Chess

In December 2006, Chesham Town Council adopted an Environmental Policy, which can be downloaded here: Environmental Policy (PDF, 112 KB). The policy has two key aims:

To improve the Council’s environmental performance.
To encourage green behaviour in residents and businesses across Chesham.

To see our progress to date, download our Eighth Year Review (PDF, 89 KB).

We’re working on both small and large projects to make improvements, from changing our drinking water supply from bottled water to tap water, to the installation of solar panels at Chesham Moor Gym & Swim. We area a member of Chesham Water Group and lead on a Chesham based river conservation partnership called Impress the Chess which encourages water conservation; find out more about this on our Water Wasters page. We have been tackling invasive species on our land and helping to provide information about Invasive Species in Chesham.
