Sewage Treatment Works Improvements

The improvement project at Chesham Sewage Treatment Works is proceeding well and Thames Water is on schedule to complete the upgrade work by the end of March 2018.

An update on the works so far is as follows:
- by the end of February it is expected that the majority of the newly installed equipment will be connected
- concrete paths are being poured and repairs are being carried out to the road drainage on site
- installation of new hardware and control systems are due to be completed by the end of February
- a crane will be on site at the end of January to lift and positino the new scraper bridge into place
- work will continue to protect sensitive equipment from water damage on site
- old, redundant equipment will be removed as and when required
- Thames Water will continue to work on improvements to reduce the noise from the aeration pipework at site

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm.

Whilst the works should not result in any increase in odour, you may notice an increase in noise and vehicle movements, although Thames Water will do their best to keep disruption to a minimum.
