Phil Folly - Honorary Freeman of Chesham

Town Mayor Peter Hudson presents Phil Folly with his Freeman statusTown Mayor, Cllr Peter Hudson, made Phil Folly the second Honorary Freeman of Chesham at the Annual Town Meeting on the 12th May. The Council received a nomination from resident Andrew Clark, which was sponsored by Cllr Hudson, recommending the awarding of Freeman status in light of Phil's many years of varied and extensive volunteering for the benefit of the town, its community and its environment.

Mr Clark said, "Phil is the driving force and inspiration to many of the voluntary groups which operate within the town, including environmental and supporting older people. If a job needs doing and needs doing well, people call on Phil who then quietly and without a lot of fuss gets it done."

Phil commits many hours each week to volunteering for groups as diverse as Chesham Environmental Group and the Age Concern Good Neighbours Scheme. The Council were delighted to award this special status to Chesham's super-volunteer.
